Anne Traynor Beverding, 94, passed away June 22, 2013. A lifelong resident of the island, she spent the last six years engaged in the activities at the warm and wonderful Ainsley Courte Assisted Living in Cypress. A loving staff took great pleasure and were entertained by her many stories of life in Galveston from depression days, to war time blackouts, to the fun dances at Fort Crockett. Anne participated in mentoring programs for elementary and high school age students, won awards at the Senior Harris County Fair, and loved all the musical programs, games and field trips arranged by the Ainsley Courte family.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Beverding; son, Jerome Beverding; and daughter, Anne Marie Newman.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Beverding and wife, Donna; son-in-law, George Newman and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren: Stephanie Beverding, Jay Beverding, Eric Beverding and wife, Dacia, Kyle Beverding and wife, Christy, Deanna Parr and husband, Brock, Kirk Newman, Craig Newman, and Carl Newman; seven great grandchildren: Starling, Blake, Neko, Spencer, Conrad, Carson, and Kirby; and sister-in-law, Eunice Toney, of Cincinnati, OH.
Anne’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 26th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anne’s grandsons.
