Arthur Joseph Thiberville, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, in Pearland, TX. He was born on October 4, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Arthur Sr. and Clara Thiberville. He grew up in New Orleans, LA, and enlisted in the US Navy, serving in World War II. After being honorably discharged, Arthur graduated from Loyola University and took a job with NASA, residing in Houston, TX for 28 years. During this time, he also served in the Marine Corps Reserve, retiring at the rank of Lt. Colonel after 28 years of service. Upon retirement, Arthur and his wife, Mildred moved to Galveston where they were active volunteers in the community. Together they made care packages for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan; contributed to Our Daily Bread and Arthur was an usher at Sacred Heart Church, where they were long time members.
Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mildred. He is survived by his four sons: Mike Thiberville and wife, Sharon; Andy Thiberville and wife, Cathy; Rusty Thiberville and wife, Jennifer; and Philip Thiberville; grandchildren: Justin Thiberville and wife, Sunnie; Nikki Baxter and husband, Jeremy; Kristi Belluomini and husband, Brian; Stephanie Irish and husband, Robert, and Henri Thiberville; great grandchildren: Teagan Thiberville, Tate Thiberville, Truitt Thiberville, Tymber Baxter, Blayze Baxter, Scott Belluomini, Nathan Belluomini, and Cadence Irish; sister, Claire Fielding and husband, John, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Arthur’s family will receive visitors beginning at 4:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 5:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 18, at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
