Aurelia Licerio Perez died peacefully on June 12, 2022, in Galveston, Texas at the age of 90.
She is survived by siblings, Raymond (Blacky) Licerio, Julian Licerio Jr. (Frances) and Lupe Galvan; children, Ruben Sanchez (Joann), Norma Sanchez and Anastacio Sanchez, Jr. (Kay), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian Licerio Sr, and Inez Romo Licerio; siblings, Belia Sandoval, Irene Bernal, Eva Hewlett, Tommie Delgado, Ester Trevino, Angel Licerio; son, Rudy Sanchez and daughter Yolanda Wigley.
Aurelia Licerio was born on August 24, 1931, in Placedo, Texas. She moved to Galveston, Texas in her twenties. She was a generous/witty/dedicated individual who loved dancing, fishing and who was passionate about being a great Nanny. She never had a formal education but taught herself how to read and write in English. Aurelia even managed to keep her own business successfully for a number of years. She also loved to play the “machines” and was often lucky.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 17, 2022, at 1pm, at Malloy Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas with a celebration of life to follow at 2pm. Special thanks to the Cascades of Galveston and Libbie’s Place.
