Obituary

Betty C. Kaiser Bertolino, 93, formerly of Galveston, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster. She was born July 26, 1924, in Galveston, to William and Clara Dittman Kaiser.  Betty worked for Dominican High School and then spent the last 18 years of her career with Employees Insurance of Texas, retiring in 1989.  Betty loved to do cross stitch for friends and family, and her love of crossword puzzles kept her 93-year-old brain sharp.  She was a former member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, but since moving to the mainland in 2007, Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in League City.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Bertolino, Sr.; her brothers, W. J. (Bill), Eddie, and Gene Kaiser; sisters, Mamie Bartel, Lucy Henckel, Ceil Bowman, Sissy Mazzantini, and Wilma Zack.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Bertolino Walthall and husband, John; son, Frank C. Bertolino and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Kelly Walthall Laufman and husband, Steven, and Sam Bertolino; honorary daughter, Mary Rita McClendon Pickett; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Betty’s family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 12:00 noon.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steven Laufman, Wayne Vickery, Bobby Bowman, Joe Jacobi, Rick Wilkenfield, and David Zack. Harry Vickery will serve as honorary pallbearer.

I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Betty. Love and prayers yall’s way. I remember when my sister, Robin turned a year old my mom and dad and Robin and I rode around with her cake in the car because Shirlene had a birthday party the same day and we ended up at Uncle Frank and Aunt Betty’s house for my sister’s first birthday. I will always remember that.
