Obituary

Betty Lou Boyt was born September 19,1930, in Galveston, Texas to Lloyd Pete Henderson and Clara Wallstein Henderson. She passed away at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City, Texas, on October 24, 2012.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard “Richie” Boyt, and three brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three sons, George Sims and Ann, Andy Worthen and Kathy, and Rick Worthen and Grace, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Island Church, 2411 69th Street in Galveston on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 7 PM. Rusty Martin will preside over the service.

I will certainly miss Betty - when I would visit the nursing home I loved to visit with her. She always had a smile on her face and was constantly complimenting everyone she came in contact with - telling them how pretty they looked. She certainly brightened up my day each time I saw her. Some people just leave a lasting impression in your heart and Betty was certainly one of those people. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family because they certainly have lost a special lady.
