Obituary

Calvin G. Riley, Sr., 89, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at UTMB Hospital. He was born April 19, 1926, in Galveston, and graduated from Ball High School. Calvin served in the US Army during World War II and retired from the City of Galveston Public Works Department in 1988. He was of the Southern Baptist faith and loved spending time with his family.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Bessie Riley; and brother, Charles H. Riley.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Roseann Riley; sons: Calvin Riley, Jr. and wife, Diane; Larry C. Riley and wife, Felicia; and Michael G. Riley and wife, Susan; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren who lovingly called him “Goog;” brother, F. L. Riley and wife, Kathy, of Topeka, KS; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Calvin’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Monday, March 28th at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm, led by Rev. Grayson Glass.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
