Mary Jane Buttrill left a message on June 21, 2018:
Dear Kathryn, Michael and Nancy, I have such loving memories of your mother because of her kindness to my mother when I brought her to Beaumont in 1994. Although my mother, Mollye, was about 9 years older but very lively for her age, the two of them enjoyed each other's company. Catherine and I became acquainted also and I found her friendliness and happy disposition a big plus for my family, also. The two of them took one of the first cruises out of Galveston and brought back that very attractive photo taken with the local T V weatherman and his girlfriend. Our mothers looked great. My husband and I were so happy to have mother and Catherine "cruise" with us to Alaska, too. What a coincidence that my son, John, would later meet Kathryn at the Corps of Engineers in Galveston. I would like to keep in touch and send some photos taken on the Alaskan cruise. My husband died in '07,and Mother in '08 ( age 100) I have happy memories of all as you much have of Catherine. Rest In Peace Catherine. You were very good to me and the most wonderful mother in law a girl could have. I will treasure all the memories of the times we shared and will think of you lovingly , always.
Francis Thompson left a message on May 31, 2018:
Catherine was the sweetest, most pleasant lady I ever met. We live across the street from her and Joe on Bryan Drive in Beaumont. We sent Christmas cards for years after she moved. I have missed her and so sad to see this in our paper today. She was a blessing to everyone. So sorry for your loss. Francis and George Thompson
