Cheryl and I met when we worked side by side at Ernst & Young. She quickly became a close friend. She made me laugh daily. When I was pregnant and too sick to drive myself home from work, she drove me in her brand new black Mazda Protege. She reminded me every minute of that trip to let her know if I needed to get sick so I wouldn’t ruin her car. She was the best. Always there for others. Even though our lives went in different directions we stayed in contact. She never complained about her cancer diagnosis but just continued to live her life with her loving husband Bubba. They were inseparable. He was her life and vice versa. Even though we lived cross country from each other we texted on occasion and she never forgot my birthday. Ever. I will miss her texts and our fun banter. I will miss everything about Cheryl. RIP dear friend.

We have known Bubba and Cheryl for over 40 years now and have always kept up with each other throughout that time. We started out neighbors with them on 33rd Avenue North in Texas City where we sent our young children over to have snow ball fights with them. They were good neighbors to us and our family!! Cheryl and I worked together at Mainland Hospital and spoke to each other often. Once she became sick we continued to send texts to each other and encourage each other. She was a warrior and fought her battle hard but she never became bitter throughout her fight while always continuing to love Bubba, family & friends. She will never be forgotten by those that love her and prayed many prayers for her. She always reminded me when I was complaining that I could take her place thus teaching me how to be grateful for each day!!
