Obituary

On November 14, 2014 Christopher Ragle, known to most by Blake, tragically passed away with his girlfriend, Gabriella Giles, by his side in Galveston, TX. He was born March 9, 1998, in Dallas, TX, to parents, Cherish and Chris Ragle. Blake is preceded in death by his big sister, Constance Marie Pruitt; grandma, Shirley Pruitt; great grandpa, D’ Wayne Ragle; great grandparents, JP and Dorothy Henderson; and grandparents, Bobby Jo and Ima Jean Massey and Lavon Pruitt. Left to cherish his memories are his mother and father, Cherish and Chris Ragle; brother, Brandon Ragle; great grandma, Lovie Marie Pruitt; grandparents, Danny Pruitt, Vickie and Tom Ross, and Raymond Ragle; aunts, Angie Hatcher and Candace Binger; uncle, Danny Pruitt; cousins: Charles Watkins, Cheyenne Binger, Alyssa and Thad Hatcher; second cousins, Carson and Collin Watkins; as well as many, many friends who will miss him more than life. His life was tragically cut short.

Blake was a character – one that everyone couldn’t help but love. When you speak to his friends and family, you’ll hear about his contagious smile, his sense of humor that made everyone laugh, and the fact that he lit up a room without even trying. You’ll hear memories shared that will make you realize how much he will truly be missed. Blake was one of the smartest young men. He attended Ball High School where he participated in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Program.

Blake’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, November 18th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 34th & Broadway, in Galveston. A service honoring his memory will begin at 7:00 pm.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 19th, at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, 2803 53rd Street in Galveston. Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston will be held following Gabriella’s services on Wednesday afternoon.

Blake was a once in a lifetime type of person, one you rarely come across. His life was cut short. 16 is way too young.

So sorry for the tragic loss of your "Blake" I wish to share comfort from the Bible at this terribly sad time. The Bible teaches that one day in the near future, our Creator, Jehovah God, by means of the ransom sacrifice of his son, Jesus, will reunite us with our dead loved one by means of a resurrection right here on earth, in paradise conditions that will be filled with peace, happiness, and perfect health for everyone....... These texts are found at John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:9-11, 29; in any Bible you choose. There is much Bible-based comfort to be found on the website jw.org

My dear cousin Cheri, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I didn't get the opportunity to meet your son, but I know he was a great kid just from what I've seen written about him. You and your family are in my prayers.

Blake was a great kid- one of my all time favorite students. I actually looked forward to him getting into trouble so that I could talk to him. He always made me laugh because his family was just as crazy as mine. He was a genuine guy, and there wasn't anyone else like him. Whoever reads these things, please know that he was truly loved. Thanks for bringing him into the world and sharing him with us.
