Cliff “Gus” Burnett departed this life on September 14th, 2015, with loved ones by his side.
Cliff lived on Bolivar Peninsula with his wife, Jacque, and his dogs, Casino and Buck. Cliff was a master electrician (known as “Cliff the Electrician”) by trade, but he was an avid fisherman by heart. He had a reputation as the best shark tooth finder, and he loved his early morning beach combing. Cliff landed on the Crystal Beach shores after having lived as far away as Hawaii and Nevada (yes, a gold digger). He graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene and spent many years in the Fort Worth / Granbury area.
Cliff will be greatly missed by his family: wife, Jacque; brother, Richard (pre-Ike CB resident); best fishing buddy and brother, Ray, on the canal; sister, Anita; and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance and celebration of Cliff’s life will be held at the Crystal Beach Community Church, 1020 Diamond Road, in Crystal Beach. Visitation will be held 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, September 18th, and the funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, September 19th, with a reception to follow.
