Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Arivello, 59, of Galveston, was promoted to Glory on Monday, November 10, 2014. Cindy was born and raised in Galveston, graduated from O’Connell High School and Galveston College. She was an employee of UTMB for 31 years. Cindy served as O’Connell School Board President, was a member of Serra Club, and served in several positions at Our Lady of Guadalupe and Sacred Heart Catholic churches. One of the highlights of her service to Catholic youth was a trip to Rome with fifty students where Cindy was able to meet the Pope. Cindy dedicated her life, time and talents to her church and community. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Cindy was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Florence Arivello and sister of Gerald Arivello, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her uncles, Bob Driscoll and wife, Helen; and James Driscoll and wife, Vickie; cousins, Doug Driscoll and wife, Cathy; Jim Driscoll and wife, Sandy; Wayne Driscoll and wife, Pam; and Patricia Rennick and husband, Steve.
Cindy’s family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 am, Thursday, November 13th, at Sacred Heart Church. A rosary will begin at 10:00 am and a funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow the services at Calvary Catholic Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Joey Centenio, Johnny Centenio, Craig Ott, Mike O’Connell, Robert Bastien, Robert Driscoll and James Driscoll.
