Dan Bernard Guerra was called to heaven on Friday, February 15th. He was born in Galveston, Texas, on June 26, 1957.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theresa and Ray Guerra; and his brother, John “Henry” Guerra, as well as half brothers and sister: Ray Guerra, Jr., Luis Guerra, Raul Guerra and Delores Guerra.

Bernard is survived by his loving sisters, Angie Guerra of League City and Glenda Guerra of Galveston; nieces, Debra Umana, Christine Ruelas, Amanda Guerra and Stephanie Castaneda; sister-in-law, Betty Guerra; special cousins, Maria Solis and Arthur Gonzales; and numerous other cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends. His love of music and Galveston beaches will always be remembered.

Bernard’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Monday, February 18th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with a rosary at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 19th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery.

Bernard’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff of J-5 D Unit at UTMB, as well as the staff at the Health Care Center for their exemplary care. The family appreciates everyone who visited and prayed for Bernard.

Pallbearers are Alfredo Umana, Arthur Castaneda III, Jeff Valka, Gilbert Reyna, Jimmy Moya and Ernest Moya. Honorary pallbearers are Arthur Gonzales, Robert Edwards, and Kevin Barret.
