Love from a BOI
My deepest condolences to the family. May God strengthen you.
The loss of a great coworker and friend. The love snd caring Dan shared with the faculty and students can not be expressed in words. A great person has gone on to his reward. To John and other family members, I offer my condolences and love.
Mr. Matthews was one of the best educators I ever met. His patience and kind demeanor as a teacher was one that stood out. He truly demostrated his joy for teaching and always encouraged each of us to do our best. I owe my typing experience to him. He will truly be missed!
I'm happy to have met Dan (& Mom & Joellen) last Christmas. The family dynamics was fun; hospitality abounded & I felt quite welcome. We never know just how much can change in a year, so it makes together-times so much more important & special. I'm sorry for your loss of Dan but I trust you will treasure memories of happy times. Hugs to all. Debbie

Mr. Matthews
A teacher I could never forget! Such fun, such flare.. Both you and your wife left great memories for me at Central. Love you both! RIP
Mr. Matthews was my typing teacher in 7th grade. He was a fun and spirited man, and good to the students. Hard to believe that was almost thirty years ago, already. I still tell stories now and then from his class. All good stories.
He let us gather in his classroom for lunch, too, to hang out and play games.
God bless!
Dan Matthews was a very nice man amd a good neighbor he will be missed.
Condolences to the family. Mr. Matthews was an outstanding teacher everyone love him.

Mr. Matthews was my typing teacher in 8th grade. I don't remember many of my teachers but he stands out because he was fun, lively and funny. I imagine if he lived his life with even a hint of the enthusiasm he showed in his classroom, he has left behind a slew of great memories of a life well lived. I'm sorry he got called away at an early age; my mom did too. I hope he sends signs to everyone who loved him that he guards over you still.
So sorry for your loss, sending prayers
Mr.Matthews was an amazing teacher he will always be remembered! You guys have my deepest condolences.
Rest In Peace Mr. Matthews. He was an awesome teacher I had in 8th grade at Central in 81-82. He made us laugh all the time and kept our attention to learn. He had an awesome smile. At 47 you don't always remember your teachers. He was a favorite of mine. He will be keeping the smiles and laughs going in heaven.
Dan we had such good times and so much. Crazy stuff.. We would laugh about it teasing ourselves.
Gone too soon.
Godspeed my friend.

John and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad, son, brother was something else. As you know, he never stopped serving/teaching youth. He was a big influence on so many youth. He was a good friend to those of us who had the privilege to work with him. He helped create Community Youth Development. At the end of the Summer he would come up with creative ideas. He turned paint sticks into inspiration sticks. He will be missed. With Love and prayers Carol Gordon

Funny thing that last night I had a dream about a very funny and not repeatable true story that Danny and I shared together 45 years ago. This morning I found out that God had taken him. I guess you stopped by for a last visit.
Nothing but the best to you Danny, you gave, you loved, you laughed. Good for you.
