Daniel Patrick Cavazos, 51, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, October 14th, at UTMB Hospital. He was born January 21, 1961, in Galveston, TX, and graduated from Ball High School. He enjoyed surfing as a young boy and was an All-Star baseball player. After graduating from ITT Technical School, Danny worked as an electrician until he became disabled in 2001.
Danny’s true love in life was his love of music. He loved playing the guitar, having friends come over to join him in his sound room, and sharing his talents with others. He also enjoyed coin collecting and wood carving. Danny’s grandchildren brought him so many years of joy. He was always excited about the times he spent camping out with them. They were always near and dear to his heart.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Aline Boudreaux Cavazos and sister, Karen Sue Reegan-Cavazos.
He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 22 years, JoAnn Colon Cavazos; father, Daniel Cavazos, Jr.; son, Daniel Patrick Stone and wife, Courtney; daughter, Kelly Ann Cavazos; sister, Cindy Snipes; brothers, David Cavazos and wife, Mary, and Richard Cavazos; grandchildren: Nicholas, Emma, and Elyana Stone, and Katie and John Whatley; former daughter-in-law, Mary Whatley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Thursday, October 18th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:30 pm.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, October 19th, at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a reception at the Holiday Inn Paradise Ballroom, 5002 Seawall Blvd, Galveston.
Pallbearers will be John Herrin, Jr., Ryan Snipes, Michael Snipes, Al Sanchez, Marvin Fojtik, and John Provost.
