Earleen Catherine Zuspann Carter, 93, passed away December 14, 2017, surrounded by her beloved family. Earleen was born on April 11, 1924, and was a lifetime Galvestonian.
Earleen was born to Earl and Freida Zuspann. She attended Galveston schools and was a graduate of Ball High. Earleen worked for Lipton Tea Company for 28 years and retired in 1987. She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing cards and spending time with her family. She loved dancing to Frank Sinatra at the Flagship Hotel and Buddy Kirk Club.
Her parents, Earl and Freida Zuspann; her husband, Lemuel (Sonny) Carter; and her son-in-law, Billy Nonus, Jr., preceded Earleen in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Hamilton and her husband, Lamar, of Gauthier, Mississippi; Terri Nonus of League City; her son, Richard Carter and his wife, Marian of Galveston; and sister, Eva Mae Kelemen of Friendswood. Earleen had four grandchildren: Dona Hamilton Creson, Paul Hamilton and his wife Darla, Billy Nonus, III, and Traci Tate and her husband Bart. She also had six great grandchildren: Taylor Deltz, Shelby Scout Creson, Hannah Barrow, Hayden Hamilton, Ella Claire Tate and Adalyn Tate.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Billy Nonus, III, Bart Tate, Paul Hamilton, Hayden Hamilton, Danny Creson and Taylor Deltz.
