Elizabeth Angell Sekaly, 94, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at UTMB Hospital. She was born May 27, 1920, in Daisetta, TX, to John and Lucy Hanshaw. Elizabeth was a resident of Galveston for 68 years and retired from Galveston ISD, where she worked as a teacher for many years. She was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd W. Sekaly, and grandson, David Alan Bell.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Bell and husband, EJ; granddaughter, Sharon Vela and husband, Ricardo; great grandchildren, Dominic David and Demi Elizabeth Vela; nieces and nephews: Terry McBee and wife, Bessie; John Mark McBee and wife, Shara; Carol Clark and husband, Richard; and Marie Farr; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Elizabeth’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 31st, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Pinard officiating. Entombment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
