Emile (Bubba) Charles John Joseph Lapeyrouse Jr., 75, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Friendship Haven Care Center in Friendswood, TX. He was born on Sept 10, 1940 in Galveston, Texas to Emile Lapeyrouse Sr. and Opal Bolton Lapeyrouse. Emile was a hairdresser and owner of Emile’s Beauty Salon. He loved to play bridge and held the title of Silver Life Master. Emile was a member of Galveston Orchid Society, was also involved in Cub and Boy Scouts, enjoyed oil painting, and spent time aboard the Texas Clipper. He loved old movies, especially thrillers. Emile also loved cooking and his recliner. He had a wonderfully bizarre sense of humor and adventure, which endeared him to many, and most of all his grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Emile was preceded in death by his father and mother; his “mom,” Clemence “Rosie” Shouldis; stepmother, Carolyn Lapeyrouse; brother, A. J. Arnona Jr.; sisters, Beverly and Adalaide; and son-in-law, Lee Webster.
He is survived by his son, Jean-Paul Lapeyrouse and wife Lauren; daughter, Margo Lapeyrouse Webster and companion Nathan Scott; sisters, Karen and husband Mark Hebert, Debbie and husband Steve Packard, Shary and husband Dennis Zajack; brother, Mark Lapeyrouse; former wife, Teresa Roberto Lapeyrouse; grandchildren: Murphy, Brayden, Ember, Blake and Freya; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Emile’s life will be at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston on Saturday, May 7, 2016, with visitation at 2:00 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm.
