George O’Donohoe Jr., 58, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 in La Marque, Texas. He was born December 5, 1953 in Galveston. George was most recently employed for ten years by Pathway House in La Marque, TX where he helped and counseled many people with overcoming alcoholism and substance abuse. He was an entrepreneur and had several self-owned businesses and partnerships with other companies. George continued his education throughout his lifetime and most recently obtained a degree in Occupational Safety Technology. George’s love of music, football, guitar playing, photography, and family holidays were the center of his spirit. His humor, knowledge, generosity, kindness, and love were the greatest gifts he gave to others. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all those who knew and loved him.
George was preceded in death by his father, George O’Donohoe Sr., sister, Mary, grandparents, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine O’Donohoe, of Galveston; sister, Stephanie Armstrong, and husband, David; brother, Marcus O’Donohoe, and wife, Sandie; sister, Phyllis Ann Nebout, and husband, Jim; nephews, Samuel Varner and family, Ray Moore Jr. and family; nieces, Misty Lytle and family, Brandy Moore and family, Mindy Gilbert and family, and his most beloved niece, Amanda Battle and family.
George’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, August 28th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:30 pm.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 29th, at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.
Pallbearers will be Marcus O’Donohoe, David Armstrong, Jim Nebout, Chris Homrighaus, Tim Strong, and Lawrence Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Samuel Varner, Ray Moore Jr. and Henry Coltzer, his devoted friend.
