Gregory Roland Harrington, 55, of Bayou Vista, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his residence. He was born December 12, 1957, in Galveston, Texas to Roland Joseph Harrington and Alice Marie Quilter Harrington. Greg worked for Farmer’s Copper for 31 years, where he served as the VP of Operations. He spent his last two years as an executive with Jamail & Smith Construction. Greg will be remembered as a volunteer for any and every cause, an avid fisherman, and a lover of Labrador dogs.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his longtime love, Cyndi Elles; brother, Jeffery James Harrington and Shirley Moore of Galveston; nieces: Carrie Lynn Harrington and Kelli Ann Harrington Gonzalez and John Matthew Gonzalez, of Galveston; as well as great nieces and nephews: Shannon Joseph Harrington and Abigail Lynn, John Matthew, Austin James and Jenna Elizabeth Gonzalez. Also surviving are aunts, Geraldine Harrington and Doris Harrington Slawson and husband, Amos Dean Slawson; cousins: Lisa Anne Harrington Kleyweg and Jim Kleyweg, Sharon Slawson Hood, Scott Hood and their children, Teri Lynn Slawson Nelson, Brad Nelson and their children; cousins, Dennis L. and Lydia Harrington and their children, Kevin D. and Edie Harrington and their children, David Harrington, and Charles and Belinda Slawson and their children; and his beloved yellow Lab, Jolie Blonde.
Greg’s family will receive visitors beginning at 4:00 pm, Thursday, December 12th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 pm, led by Rev. Ray Pinard.

A reception will be held to honor Greg’s life from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Galveston Island Hilton on the Seawall.
