Harry was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston on November 18, 1958. He died peacefully at his home on February 7, 2010 with his wife Janice and daughters Erin and Emily by his side. Harry was 51 years old.

The funeral mass will be at St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday February 11 at 2 p.m. celebrated by Father Page Polk, OFM.

Harry was a 1977 graduate of O’Connell High School, where he excelled in sports. He attended Southwest Texas State University and The University of Texas.

Harry was an astute businessman having founded Custom Sports Surfacing, Inc. of which he was President and CEO.  His company provides sports flooring to universities, schools, health clubs and recreational centers. Harry was proud of and passionate about his business. He was universally respected by his many close friends in the industry both for his depth of knowledge and his unfailing integrity. Harry pioneered the rolled rubber process which changed the way rubber floors are installed worldwide.

Harry had a lifelong love of saltwater fishing. This began as a young boy when he could be found on the 61st Street fishing pier any time of the day or night. For years he had a fishing camp in Port O’Connor where he took countless fishing trips with family and friends.  Harry particularly enjoyed taking his wife and girls out for boat rides in Galveston Bay.

Harry packed much life into his 51 years. He was a magnet for friends. During his brief battle with cancer, friends came from around the world to be with him. The waiting area overflowed with visitors.  In order to allow his family time to sleep, Harry had “night buddies” who stayed with him overnight in the hospital so he was never alone.

Harry was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry A. Forester, Jr., and Lillian and Thomas F. Davis, Jr. ; he is survived by his wife Janice Stafford Forester; daughters Erin Elizabeth Forester and Emily Anne Forester;  parents  Anne and Harry A. Forester III ; grandmother Nellie Forester;  brothers Thomas Davis Forester and Kelly Patrick Forester; uncles Benjamin Lee Davis (Kay) and Thomas F.
