Harry David Campbell, Jr., (Dave), 64, of Galveston, Texas passed away at his home on 26th of March, 2014. Born 10th of December, 1949 in Sherman, Texas to Harry David Campbell, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Anderson, both deceased, he grew up as an Air Force brat living abroad at one point in Spain, which he remembered fondly.
Dave was employed at Texas A&M at Galveston where he made and enjoyed many friends. Unfortunately his health required him to retire in January 2013. He was a student of world history with a focus on World War II. He would play board games with his friends for hours on end over the years and built many dioramas of actual battles. Many of these were lost to Hurricane Ike!
He is survived by his wife, Karen Abraham Campbell; mother-in-law, Junetta Abraham; daughter Davina Graham and son; stepmother, Joan Campbell of MT; sister, Karen and husband Paul Rickman and children of MT: brother, Craig Campbell and wife Tudi of WA; brother, Carl Campbell and wife Mandy and children of OH; brother-in-law, David Abraham and wife Cathy and children of Hitchcock; daughter, Ashley Guzman and husband Daniel and children of Dickinson; daughter, Leila Robinson and husband Mac and daughter of League City; sister-in-law, Frances Henson of Galveston; and great aunt, Elizabeth Doree of La Marque. Dave donated his body to UT Health Science Center at Houston. Dave’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Malloy & Son Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2014. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm. Those of you who wish may make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
We wish to express our thanks to UTMB at Galveston and A-Med Community Hospice Care who cared for Dave during his illness.
A most heartfelt thanks to Dave’s lifelong friend, Jeff Antonelli.
