Herman Charles Wolf, 87, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born December 10, 1929, in Galveston, Texas. He married Bettye Michaels on April 14, 1949. He later married Mary Stein on February 11, 1983. Herman served in the Army and then worked for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway for 39 years before his retirement on November 30, 1986. Herman enjoyed taking cruises and loved to barbeque. He was a member of Tucker Lodge 297, Scottish Rite, El Mina Shrine Temple and House of Prayer Lutheran Church.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Viola Wolf; wife, Bettye Wolf; son, Richard C. Wolf; grandson, Scott Lynn; brother, Richard O. Wolf and second wife, Mary Wolf.
He is survived by daughters, Cheryl Lynn (Randy) and Carol Dale (Jack); grandchildren, Christopher Lynn (Shannara); Amy Lynn (Justin); Kristi Lynn (Tommy); Lindsay Allen (Kyle); Alex Dale (Stephanie) and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Burrell, Alex Dale, Logan Lynch, Christopher Lynn, Richard Markel, and Tommy Payne. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Crowson, Harry Jahn, Noel Layer, and Robert Perricone.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral time at 1:00 p.m. at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 14045 Space Center Boulevard, Houston, Texas. Interment will be at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of their family and friends for prayers and support during Herman’s illness as well as to the staff at Regent Care Center of League City and Hospice Plus for their compassionate care.
