James Albert Dodge, 92, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas. Jim was born February 23, 1921, in Manchester, NH, to Anna and George Dodge. He served in the US Air Force during World War II where he met Emily June Dodge who became his wife for over 50 years. Jim’s professional career was with Equifax, where he held several positions retiring as accounting manager.
Jim was an avid golfer, and he and June enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. After retirement, Jim and June relocated to Pirates Beach where they lived for over 25 years, and were members of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church of Galveston.
James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emily June Bunting Dodge; and daughter, Connie Dodge Johnson.
He is survived by sons, James Albert Dodge, Jr. and wife, Carol Ann, of Las Vegas, NV; and Robert M. Dodge and wife, Denise (Denny), of Atlanta, GA; sister, Elizabeth Dodge Putnam Biron, of Goffstown, NH; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
James’ family will receive visitors beginning at 3:00pm pm, Sunday, September 29th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, led by Rev. Charles Bagley.
