James Ridens, 63, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, at his residence.

Jimmy was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston, TX, on February 11, 1952, to D. A. and Betty Ridens. He attended Sacred Heart School, Kirwin High School and graduated from Ball High School in 1970. Jimmy obtained his certification in Fiber Optics from San Jacinto Junior College. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 527 for over 40 years. Jimmy was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan all his life.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, D.A. Ridens; his two brothers, Kevin and Keith Ridens; and grandmothers, Catherine Landry and Elizabeth Novelli.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Betty Ridens; wife, Cynthia; and son, Matthew; sister, Kay Long; mother-in-law, Ann Scofelia; sister-in-law, Anne Ridens; brothers-in law, Tony Scofelia and wife, Margaret, and Greg Scofelia and wife, Glenda; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jimmy’s family will receive visitors at 5:00 pm, Friday, November 13th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
