In loving memory of our dear Mister Jesse Z. Gonzales, a devout member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, was born October 1, 1947 in Galveston, Texas and entered eternal life on August 23, 2020 in Galveston, Texas. He went to be with our Heavenly Father at age 72.
Jesse was preceded in death by his loving wife Suzanne Marie Gonzales; his father Joseph “Joe” Gonzales; his mother Maria Z. Gonzales; brother Pedro “Pete” Gonzales; and sister Josephine G. Wilson.
His legacy is survived by his only son Kendall Jay Gonzales, Daughter-in-law Cynthia Ann Gonzales, grandsons Victor Jay Gonzales and Aaron Jay Gonzales; sisters Dorothy Cruz, Delores “Lola” Hernandez; brothers Saberio Gonzales, Joe Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
Jesse Proudly graduated from College of the Mainland where he held titles of type setter for UTMB and Weiners Department Stores then later continued his education and became a Master Electrician for Todd’s Shipyard. Of all of his accomplishments, Jesse was most proud of receiving the Deans List, an academic reward, at College of the Mainland in 1970.
Jesse had a passion for fishing and gardening and his hobbies consisted of cycling, building and repairing bicycles as wells as televisions. His favorite hobby of all was singing in the choir at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica on Sunday mornings. He loved visiting with his friends and will be remembered for the fantastic stories that he told.
Jesse will be missed by his family and friends for his welcoming personality and generous nature. We love you will all of our hearts, Jesse. May the roses bloom upon your cross.
