1986 will always be my favorite years. Bill taught me about being cool, Jimmy Buffet and how to have fun. He made me fall in love with Joe Ely, Butch Hancock, Jerry Jeff Walker and Billy Joe Shaver. My heart is so sad. I pray that the family and friends know that God has his hands full but will never find anyone as much fun.

So sad of hearing about Billy pasting. I first met Billy at the Galveston Ship building yard back in the 70’s. Than later room with him at the beach house we rented. Always a funny and caring guy. I sure he will be greatly missed.

I am saddened to just learn of Billy’s passing. I have many happy childhood, neighborhood, and high school memories of Billy hanging out with his “family of choice” at the Grotto in Galveston in the 60s and 70s. Billy was a great guy and lots of fun. I will miss him.

My dear old friend and neighbor. What memories! I would pull you out of any ditch, share a laugh, feed a dog. I will always remember the shrimp you cooked when Joe died. I will be forever grateful for so many memories.

What a great guy Bill was. He was always ready to do a favor or help someone in need. Clear Lake Shores was a better place because of him.

Bill has been a close friend for over thirty years. Not only was he the best man at our wedding he also stopped by every day to watch the evening news when we were in CLS. We will miss his humor and texts and phone calls. Rest In Peace my friend.

Bill was witty and enjoyable to be with. He did the foundation for our house remodel and many projects for which Hollis engineered. He will be missed.
