Anita, we were so sad to hear of Joe Max passing. From the 60's when my band played at the Bamboo Hut and Joe Max worked security, I always felt like Joe Max was my big brother. He was always a great friend, a protector, and a fun guy to be around. Throughout my career performing in and around Galveston, I never had more fun than when you and Joe Max would show up with Rusty and Carolyn, Andrea and Carroll, and others. You and Joe Max were quite the dancers. Sandra and I are so sorry, but a medical issue at the last moment prevented us from going to the funeral as we had planned. Joe Max is treasured friend in our hearts forever. We look forward to seeing you soon to give you (and receive) a big hug. Our love to you and all the family.

Our thoughts and prayers have been with you during your difficult health struggles and they continue to be with you today. Our love and prayers Dorothy Becker & John Becker

I will always have a big smile on my face when I think about the anecdotes, especially the one about Joe Max "combing his hair" while dribbling the ball down the court, that Jim shared with me. Jim thought so much of Joe Max. You and your family, Anita, are in my heart and prayers. Big hug coming your way!!!

For more than twenty years I had the distinct privilege and pleasure to work for Sheriff Taylor. I am more than grateful for that opportunity, as no one could have had a better boss. We were truly like a family because of him, and it was a very special time. There will never be another like him; nor anyone more deserving than he, of deep respect and admiration from those who worked for him. My prayers and sincere condolences to Mrs. Taylor, the Taylor family, and his many friends.
