Joni M. Huepers, 59, of Texas City, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Webster, TX. Joni was a beautiful, intelligent woman who loved life.
Joni was born February 8, 1958, in Galveston, and was a proud BOI. Joni had thrown beads from a Krewe of Aquarius float, camped and hiked the Davis Mountains, canoed in Atikokan, Canada, flown in a deHavilland Beaver, floated the Rio Grande, hiked the Piney Woods of Texas, hiked the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, raised three wonderful children, rode horseback on a Dude Ranch in Montana, and received the Boy Scout Silver Beaver award. She was a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow, trained many scout leaders, and was a graduate of the Galveston Bay Power Boat Squadron class. Joni loved kids and they would tell her their whole life story.
Joni was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Ewy Jones and Marion H. Jones; and her sister, Janis Stifflemire.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Richard Huepers; children: J Barton Huepers, Hayley Jo Huepers, and Hunter Lee Huepers; sister, Debbie Jones, of Sherman, TX; niece, Ann-Rae Jakes; great niece, Jessica Jakes; great nephew, Jeffery Jakes; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Joni’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bart Huepers, Hunter Huepers, Alex Sifuentes, Bubba Millsaps, Jeffery Jakes, and Chris Bishop.
