Jose “Pepe” E. Aguirre, 88, of Galveston, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Galveston. He was born December 28, 1928 in Saltillo, Mexico but was a longtime Galveston resident. Jose lived for his grandchildren. His memory will be cherished forever.

Jose was a longtime poet and a songwriter. He loved to read books and to travel. He was a retired longshoreman of Local 20.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria M. Aguirre, and his three children: Constantino, Jose Luis, and Maria J. Aguirre.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Kimberly Aguirre-Villarreal and husband, Gilbert, Jr.; Marc Anthony Aguirre; and Joseph Aguirre and wife, Melissa; great grandchildren: Mason, Joshua, Cameron, and Dimitri Villarreal; great great grandsons, Jordan, Jax, and Maxson Villarreal and Jolon Aguirre.

Jose’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
