Julius Henry Wedemeyer went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 5, 2016, in Arlington, TX. Bubba, as he was affectionately known by all that loved him, was born on Galveston Island on September 6, 1919. He was a proud graduate of Ball High in 1936. Like so many of his generation he proudly served his country from 1942-1946, as a supply chief in the US Navy. Upon his return to the island, he met and married Martha Lacko on October 11, 1947. In 1950 he began a long illustrious career that spanned over 50 years for Texas Gulf Construction and later J.W. Kelso. Bubba enjoyed all sports, most notably baseball and was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Galveston.
Bubba was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha; his parents; and his brother. He is survived by his only daughter, Beverly Ladusky; granddaughter, Amy Raley and husband, Jeff; grandson, TJ Ladusky and wife, Kristin; and five great grandchildren.
Bubba’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Galveston with Rev. Richard Rhoades officiating. Entombment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
