Kathleene Wilson was born April 8, 1965 to parents, Robert Vernon (Bobby) and Donna Stephens Wilson at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston, TX. She was the light and love of their lives. Her light flickered and died September 8, 2014. She was 49 years old.
Kathleene attended St. Patrick’s, O’Connell, and Ball High School. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BS degree in criminal justice in 1987. On breaks from college, Kathleene worked with her dad at his boat yard in Palacios when the family moved there after Hurricane Alicia. After graduation, she worked for Wackenhut Security at the nuclear plant in Bay City, and from there she worked for Children’s Protective Services as a case worker in Bay City and then moved to Austin and worked as an ombudsman for CPS. Kathleene moved back to Galveston in 2008 and worked for Wainwright Law Firm in Houston. At the time of her death, she was a property manager for Mike and Penny Guttersen.
Kathleene loved all her family and friends and animals of all kinds. She was a gentle, compassionate soul with a heart of gold. A true friend, Kathleene was fun-loving, generous, and loyal with a non-stop sense of humor. All who knew her loved her. She enjoyed watching sports with her dad and her friends and family and treasured her trips to Coushatta and Las Vegas. Kathleene also liked fishing, golf, softball, bike riding, and swimming; however, her passion was cooking, and she was great at it. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Kathleene was preceded in death by her grandparents, Irene and Harrison Wilson and Charles and Beatrice Stephens; and uncles, Joseph Stephens, Rex Wilson, and Paul Danesi.
She is survived by her parents, Donna Jean and Robert V. (Bobby) Wilson; aunt, Shirley Danesi; and uncle, Fred Wilson and wife, Donna. Instrumental in helping during this time of sorrow were Kathleene’s special cousins, Patrick Danesi and wife, Kimberly; Stephen Danesi and wife, Jennifer; Christopher Danesi and wife, Kimberly; Jacqueline Minardi and husband, Chris; and a host of other cousins and family members.

The light of our life did not burn long enough on earth and left our souls in darkness. But heaven is bright with Kathleen’s light. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
