Maria D. Izaguirre, age 82, passed away at Kindred Hospital on Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was born September 25, 1935 in Monterrey, Mexico.
Maria was a loving, caring daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital many years ago. She loved to dance, sing and was in the singing group at church. She will sadly be missed by all her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marciano (Rangel) Izaguirre; and her parents, Fermin and Maria Rodriguez.
She is survived by her daughters: Ruth Hernandez of California, Norma Gutierrez and husband Jorge of Galveston, and Sandra Alvarado and husband Martin of La Marque; son, Marcos Hernandez and wife Laura of California; special niece, Leticia Contreras; her grandchildren: George Gutierrez and wife Dina of Galveston, Javier Gutierrez, Daniel Gutierrez of Texas City, Israel Carrera and wife Gloria , David Alvarado and wife Karina of Dickinson, Antonio (Tony) Gutierrez and wife Natalie of California, Joaquin and wife Darlene of California, Naomi Irani and husband Romin of California, Michael McCormick of California, Marcos J. Hernandez, Victor Hernandez, and Noelani Hernandez of Arizona; her great grandchildren: Gabriela Carrera, Julie Gutierrez, Chelsea Gutierrez, Javier Gutierrez Jr, Isabella Gutierrez, Mila Gutierrez, Trey Alvarado, Mariah Gutierrez, Briana and Brandon Gutierrez, Alesandra Hernandez, Diego Gutierrez, Teyo Gutierrez, Noah Gutierrez, Anjali Alvarado, Jazlin Alvarado and Mateo Irani.
Visitation for friends and family will begin at 5:00 pm, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, 3028 Broadway in Galveston. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
Pallbearers are George and Daniel Gutierrez, Israel Carrera and David Alvarado. Honorary Pallbearers are Jorge Gutierrez, Martin Alvarado and Fidencio Leija.
