Maria M. Aguirre, 80, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, January 07, 2014, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston. She was born August 6, 1933, in Port Isabel, TX but was a longtime Galveston resident. Maria was a church loving person who lived for her family. Her memory will be cherished forever.

She was preceded in death by her three children: Constantino, Jose Luis, and Maria J. Aguirre; and her grandson, Gabriel Aguirre.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jose “Pepe” Aguirre; grandchildren: Kimberly Aguirre-Villarreal and husband, Gilbert Jr.; Marc Anthony Aguirre; and Joseph Aguirre and wife, Melissa; great grandchildren: Mason, Joshua, Cameron, and Dimitri Villarreal and Jolon Aguirre; great great grandson, Jordan Villarreal; sister, Nicolasa Uresti; two brothers, Christian and Placido Martinez; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Maria’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Thursday, January 9th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 6:00 pm.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Friday, January 10th, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston.

Pallbearers will be Mason, Josh, Cameron and Dimitri Villarreal, Marc Anthony Aguirre, and Joseph Aguirre. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Villarreal and Jolon Aguirre.
