Martha Marie Wedemeyer, 87, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2011 at UTMB in Galveston with her husband and daughter by her side.
Martha was born on December 7, 1923 in Munhall, Pennsylvania. She moved to Galveston in 1944 to visit her brother, John Lacko, stationed at Fort Crockett, and later attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She met her husband of 64 years, Julius “Bubba” Wedemeyer on his return from serving in WWII. She devoted her life to her family and friends.
Martha is survived by her husband Julius; daughter, Beverly Ladusky (Tim); grandchildren, Amy Raley (Jeff) and T. J. Ladusky; great grandson, Walker Raley; goddaughter, Stephanie Brown; sister, Olga Isenberg and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, November 18, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 19, at First Lutheran Church in Galveston with internment following at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
