Cora Rafter left a message on July 14, 2022:
Dear Sarah, Stephanie, Patty, Kathleen, Paula, Eddie, Vernon, Jennifer, Ryan and Olivia, I was very sorry to hear of the death of Kay, such a big part of your family life in Galveston. She was blessed to have a family, who cared for her so well, all through her life but particularly in her more vulnerable years. I remember her sense of fun , her straight talking and the great banter she had with her nieces and nephew. Her views on domesticity were eye-opening in conservative Ireland in the early 80's, where she challenged the ideas of ironing, cooking and cleaning, not only as chores for women but for all genders. Thinking of all the Everlings at this very sad time. Cora and Nick

My prayers to the family of Ms. Kay. I got a phone call from Ms. Kay after applying for a job in Radiology at UTMB right after college....I still can hear her when I answered the phone she said "you want to come to work? come on down". Ms. Kay was a joy to work with honest and a wonderful sense of humor!

My prayers goes out the family. Ms. Kay hired me back in 1982 in radiology. She always made you laugh. Very kind and funny lady.
Sandra Matranga left a message on July 11, 2022:
We shared a lot of memories. She was there for me when I first started my job at UTMB. Without her guidance I would have been lost! We shared our lunch hour almost everyday along with our other buddies; Mary Lou, Gloria and Jackie. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
