Merrill Allan True, 71, of Galveston, passed away December 27, 2011, at UTMB Hospital. He was born January 1, 1940, in Waco, Texas, and worked for many years as an environmental consultant. Merrill was a resident of Galveston since 2002, having lived for the previous 10 years in Crystal Beach. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Renate True. Per his wishes, Merrill will be cremated and there will be no services.

fifty years ago...Merrill and I shared the duty of assisting in intro biology at Tulane...both Merrill and Renata were graduate students there...one day...I had the chore of explaining the Hardy-Weinberg scheme ...afterwards...Merrill came up and said...'well, earl...that was a down to earth presentation--that I could actually understand'.. it made me feel good....and so it seemed--that fit their nature... Merrill and Renata True...were two bright spots...during our student days ...
