Michael W. Silberisen, Sr., 58, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at UTMB Hospital in Galveston. He was born January 25, 1955 in Galveston and attended Ball High School. Mike worked as a mechanic for the Port of Galveston Construction and Maintenance Department for 25 years before retiring in January 2002. As a Houston Texans season ticket holder, Mike enjoyed attending the games with friends and was an avid tailgater. He was an honorary board member of the Propeller Club of Galveston. Mike will forever be remembered for his generous heart, selflessly showing love and compassion to all.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Harold F. Silberisen, Sr. and Shirley Kestler Silberisen. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted son, Mike Silberisen, Jr.; brother, Harold F. Silberisen, Jr. and wife, Barbara Jo; his special rays of sunshine, Katie and Haley; nephew, Harold Silberisen, III and wife, Jennifer, and their 3 children; niece, Jennifer Hudnall and husband, Matt, and their 2 children; aunt, Helen Vickery and family; his dear son’s mother, Cora Kelemen; and many treasured friends and family.
Mike’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Monday, May 20th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 pm, led by Deacon Sam Dell’Olio.
