Mildred Faye Goode Parker, 96, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her residence. She was born October 12, 1917, in Galveston, Texas, to Mamie Moody Goode and Ernest E. Goode, Sr. Mildred traveled all over the United States with her husband, John E. “Jack” Parker, before settling in Waco. After Jack’s death, she returned to Galveston, spending the last 31 years living with her sister, Ruth, and niece, Sharon. Mildred was a true lady with her kind, gentle ways and her positive outlook on life. She was happy to live a simple life and always had a smile on her face.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Ruth Goode O’Donohoe; and brother, Ernest Earle Goode, Jr.
She is survived by her nieces: Charlotte Kelley, of Quincey, FL; Sharon O’Donohoe Criado, of Galveston; Pamela Barbarino, of Charlotte, NC; and Annette Goode, of Little Elm, TX; nephews: Steve F. O’Donohoe, Jr. and wife, Bennie, of League City; and David E. O’Donohoe and wife, Monica, of Galveston; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Mildred’s family would like to extend special thanks to Naomi Melton for her loving and compassionate care for Mildred.
Private family graveside services will be held in Waco, TX.
