Miqueila Almanza, 96, formerly of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City. She was born September 5, 1920, in Lockhart, Texas, but moved to Galveston at an early age. Miqueila was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.
Miqueila was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jimmy Almanza; her parents, Daniel and Antonia Serrato; and her grandson, CPL Michael James Jaurigue.
She is survived by her son, Jose Jaurigue and wife, Juana; brother, Nicho Serrato and wife, Linda; granddaughter, Monica Crockett; great grandchildren, Bree Crockett and Kevin Heiman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Miqueila’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A funeral mass will follow beginning at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s with burial following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert, Miguel, Danny, and Randy Serrato.
