Miriam M. Bailey, 91, of Galveston, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at The Meridian in Galveston.
Miriam was born June 5, 1922 in Morgan City, Louisiana to Joseph and Eunice Budge. She married Wade Bailey on November 21, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and they were married for 55 years. Miriam was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Wade, and her daughter, Sandra Bailey Hodges.
She is survived by her son, Wade J. Bailey and wife, Dorothy, of Galveston; grandson, Randall Wade Bailey, of Houston; granddaughter, Cally Ann Rosenkranz, and husband, Jeremy; great granddaughters, Emma and Ella Rosenkranz, of Crosby; granddaughter, Katherine Hodges, of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Ray Budge and wife, Helen, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; half-brother, Charles Budge; half-sisters, Patsy Blanchard and Grace Ann Morgan all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Paul Flajole, as Celebrant.
Miriam’s wishes were to be cremated, and her ashes will be interred in Kentucky beside her husband Wade and daughter, Sandra.
In lieu of flowers, Miriam requests memorials be made to St. Patrick’s Preservation Fund.
