Patricia Ruth Gray Nash, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on September 9, 2017, from complications of Alzheimer disease.
Born on April 13, 1931 in Galveston, Texas to Emmett Gray and Henrietta Duncan, she met the love of her life at Ball High School and was married to John M. Nash II on May 19, 1950 in Galveston, Texas. She obtained Bachelor and Master Degrees from University of Houston and went on to work in the Aldine Independent School District for four decades. She dedicated her career to special education, working her way from teaching to crisis counseling at Stovall Middle School and finally as Principal at Drew Intermediate in Houston, Texas. She resided in Houston, Texas and enjoyed sunsets over west bay from the deck of their bay house in Galveston.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Nash, II; daughter, Leslye Nash; sons, John M. Nash, III and Jeff Nash; sisters, Dorothy Herauf and Jody Ellis Thompson; and brother, Emmett Gray.
Pat’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with burial following at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Scott Gray, Emmett Gray, Cecil Norman, Fred Herauf, Eric “Bubba” Nash and Steve Hylander.
