Patsy Lee Lange Bowers passed away Saturday, October 15, surrounded by her husband and family. Patsy lived a simple life blessed with all that makes life special. She loved the Lord and trusted in Him unconditionally. She loved and cherished her children and guided them through all the adventures and challenges that childhood and adulthood had to offer. She taught them faith. She nurtured her grandchildren with absolute compassion and love. She leaves behind a proud legacy. Patsy was blessed with many amazing friends and a few so close to her the line between friend and family was indistinguishable. She loved and cherished her friends and they loved and cherished her.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends but her family is thankful for and celebrates her full and complete life. It was a life well lived. Her place with the Lord is assured.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Welcome and Ed Lange, her family, Lucille and A. A. Bowers and daughter, Suzanne. Patsy is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Ralph; brother, Jim Lange, wife Charlotte; and sister, Shirley, husband Coy Martin, Jane and Daniel Callahan, Diane and Ronald Callahan, Betty and Martin Bowers, Marilyn and Gifton Underwood; her children, Johnny, wife Kim, Rick, wife Kay, Carla, Ralph, Stephanie, husband Casey Hannigan and Randall, wife Kandace and her very special grandchildren, Leigh Anne (Michael Rushing), Patty, Laura, Jessica (Curtis Pippin), Brandon, Nicholas, Jentry, Jane, Regan and Colin and nine great grandchildren. Patsy also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who were an important part of her life.
Her sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers; honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Callahan, Ronald Callahan, David O’Donohoe and Sonny Vaiani. The family wishes to thank Pastor Douglas Guthier for his years of friendship.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 17, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, beginning at 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Grace Memorial Park. The family will receive guests following the burial service at 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 18, at Fisherman’s Wharf in Galveston for friends and family.
The family requests that memorials may be made to the Suzanne Bowers Memorial Fund c/o First Lutheran Church.
