Paul B. Harbican (77) passed away from this life, Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Galveston with his big sister, Teets, by his bedside as well as several family members. He was born July 29, 1934 in Esconaba, MI. He has lived out his retirement years in Jamaica Beach. His lifelong passion was flying. He learned to fly at a very young age and had been flying solo before he ever obtained a pilot’s license. He spent many of his adult years as a pilot flying chartered flights, crop dusting and flying over Galveston spraying for mosquitoes for two years back in the late seventies. He also owned a used car lot for several years and invested in rental properties.
Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Nora Harbican, and father, Harold W. Harbican. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Allendorph and husband, Todd of Lafayette, LA; Paula Lee and husband, Todd of Cypress, TX; Hope Evans and husband, Ron of Jersey Village, TX. His surviving sisters include Teets Summers; Janet Stewart and husband Larry; Ginger Jones and Jerry Jackson. His surviving grandchildren include Taylor Lee, Lauren Stumph, Tamra Lee, Nicole Stumph, Brice and James Evans, and Alexis Allendorph. He is also survived by his nieces, Robin Fullbright, Monica Cowart, Tiffany Ransel and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Malloy & Son Funeral Home on Broadway in Galveston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Private burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
