Obituary

Paulette Marian Gochnour , BA, BSRN, died at her home in Galveston early Thursday morning, Nov. 1st. She was born in Denton, Texas on Jan. 17, 1946, to Pauline Pritchard Gochnour and Dr. Runnald W. Gochnour. M.D.

Paulette worked as a nurse for 35 years, most of that time in hospice care. She was a skilled practitioner and a compassionate care giver who brought aid and comfort to many patients and their families. She enjoyed literature, poetry, films and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Veronica, and her husband, Tyson McLeod, both of Galveston.

I first met Paulette when she was a nurse and was the new medical director. She taught me the art of taking care of patients. She was a unique brilliant woman and was always challenging my mind with interesting books to read and tales of interesting places to go and thing to do. I will never forget her!
