Obituary

Phyllis Ann O’Donohoe Nebout, 52, passed away on Friday, September 16th, 2016 at Gulf Health Care Center. She was born January 27th, 1964 in Galveston, Texas and won the Galveston Miss Splash Day Contest when she was only three years old.

In Phyllis’s lifetime, she worked as waitress and as a cake decorator for Gino’s Bakery and Cathy’s Catering. She was extremely gifted with her own personal cake designs and would always volunteer to make cakes for her family and friends because she loved her family and friends so much. Phyllis also was very gifted in any decorating, craft making, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She loved decorating for the holidays and would cook enormous meals to feed everyone, especially those friends that she would invite over who had nowhere else to go for a holiday meal. Phyllis loved to serve God above all else and she counted on Him to see her though the final days of her life. She looked forward to her final destination in heaven to be with Jesus and her family there.

Phyllis Ann’s love of God, family and friends was the center of her spirit. Her sense of humor, generosity, kindness, and love were the greatest gifts she gave to others. Her family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her, especially, her beloved friend, Rhonda Garrison, will sadly miss her.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Christian Moore; her father, George O’Donohoe Sr.; her twin sister, Mary O’Donohoe; her brother, George O’Donohoe Jr.; grandparents, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. She is survived by her husband, Jim Nebout; her son, Ray E. Moore Jr.; mother, Geraldine O’Donohoe; sister, Stephanie Armstrong and husband David; brother, Marcus O’Donohoe and wife Sandie; nephew, Samuel Varner; nieces, Amanda Battle, Misty Lytle, Brandy Kinsey, Mindy Gilbert, Molly Filidei, Sarah Puentes and their spouses. She also is survived by eight great-nephews and six great-nieces.

Phyllis’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Monday, September 19th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, Galveston, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 led by Deacon Sam Dell’Olio and Pastor Trey Dowdy.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 20th, at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.

Pallbearers are Jim Nebout, Ray Moore Jr., Terry Fisher, David Armstrong, Samuel Varner, and Brian Battle. The honorary pallbearer is Marcus O’Donohoe.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one.   Find strength and comfort from God.  At  2 Corinthians  1:3, 4  it describes God as "the God of all comfort who comfort us in all our trials".  This promise assures the family that by turning to God you can receive help during this difficult time.
