Phyllis Jean Negrini, 88, of Galveston, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017. Phyllis Jean, known to family and friends as Jean, was born in Eureka, MO, and moved to Galveston in 1945. Jean married Andrew Negrini in 1958. She was an active and long-term member of The First Lutheran Church of Galveston. Jean was also active in the Galveston chapters of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Elks Lodge #126.
Jean is survived by her son, Michael Assel and wife, Sharon, of Falcon, MO; son, Stephen Assel and wife, Peggy, of Point Blank, TX; and son, Paul Negrini and wife, Schunta, of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren: Michael and Thomas Assel, Donna Assel Askren, and Stephen Negrini.
A service celebrating Jean’s life will begin at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 16, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rhoades officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
