Rachel Lavonne (Sisson) Schaffler, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Galveston, TX, where she lived for over 4 ½ years. She lived in Chouteau, OK for 50 years. Rachel was born October 25, 1924, in Kennedy Township, OK, to Elsie and Herbert Sisson. Rachel was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting, as well as canning. She was baptized in The Church of the First Born of Fay, OK.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Schaffler; son, Stanley Schaffler; parents, Elsie and Herbert Sisson; brothers, Roy and Rueben Sisson; and sister, Verda McKellips.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruby DeManuelle; son, Herbert Murrel Schaffler; sisters, Margy Jane Threlkeld and Bonnie Joe Whitlow; grandchildren: Natasha Lowery, Brian Schaffler, Jason and Travis Schaffler; great grandchildren: Caroline, Anna, Jack, and Nicholas Lowery and Serena Schaffler; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am Friday, October 20, 2017 at Liberty Cemetery in Fay, OK.
