Randy W. Glenney, 62, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, in Texas City, TX. He was born December 14, 1950, in Tampa, FL, but moved to Galveston when he was two months old and was a true lifelong Galvestonian. Randy graduated from Ball High School with the Class of 1971 and made his career working in the oil field industry for 31 years, most recently for DeLeon & Associaties, LLC.
Randy was a selfless man with a generous heart and spirit. He could light up a room with his sense of humor, and he never met a stranger. He was known for his Hawaiian shirt, hat, sandals, and his 64-oz. Bucee’s cup full of Pepsi. A wonderful dancer, Randy never missed a turn on the dance floor. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed watching wrestling, and was a faithful scratch-off and lotto ticket purchaser. He was also a fabulous cook who loved nothing more than providing family and friends with a good meal.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Peggy Glenney; grandmother, Shirley Massa; mother-in-law, Dorothy J. Perez; and former father-in-law, Captain Everett Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Sandra. Randy and Sandy were married on Valentine’s Day 2001. When Randy and Sandy found each other, they never looked back. They have lived, loved and embraced life side by side, hand in hand. Randy is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer Stein and husband, Noah; and Allison Glenney; son, Joshua Glenney; stepdaughter, Lauren Jadidi and partner, Megan Posey; stepson, Mehran (Bubba) Jadidi; his pride and joy, his grandchildren: Carter Daniel Stein, Kara Esther Stein, and Jessa Rose Stein; father-in-law, Frank L. Perez, Sr.; former mother-in-law, Jessie Lee Bonno; former mother-in-law, Lois Walker; grandmother-in-law, Willie M. Burton; brother-in-law, Frank L. Perez, II and wife, Marian; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Mellen, Carol Borne, Nancy Valdez and husband, Pete; and Marianne Fullen and husband, Mike; pets, Lexus and Honey; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In celebration of Randy’s life, his family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, May 8th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm with Rev. Doug Guthier officiating. In honor of Randy, his family will be wearing tropical shirts and invite you to join them.
Randy’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the Texas City Police Department, especially Corp. Velseco and Ofc. Collins, as well as the staff at Value Place in Texas City, especially Theresa Jennings, Johnny Watts, and John Robinson for all their efforts and support during this difficult time. They also extend their appreciation to the Bonno family for always opening their home and to the American National Insurance Company family and the DeLeon and Associates, LLC family.
