RC Lee, Sr., 83, formerly of Galveston, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010, in Chantilly, VA. He was born February 3, 1927, in Caesar, Mississippi, and served his country in the US Navy during World War II. RC came to Galveston to work for Pennington Buick, eventually buying the body shop which he named RC Lee Body Shop and owned and operated for over 40 years. RC was also an avid woodworker and spent many happy hours making countless items for his home, family, and friends. He also devoted his life to the care of his two sons and wife.
RC was preceded in death by his wife, Annadella Sanchez Lee; and sons, RC Lee, Jr. and Charles “Chuck” W. Lee.
He is survived by his daughter, Marianne Lee Olvera; brothers, Larus Lee and wife, Elizabeth, and Sedrel Lee and wife, Nell; grandchildren: Veronique and Danielle Olvera; great grandchildren: Zion and Havana Roldan; sisters-in-law, Mary V. Galvan and Ann Molina; brothers-in-law, Andrew Sanchez, Tony R. Sanchez, and Carl W. Sanchez; special niece, Elizabeth (Liz) Lee; and special friend, Reuben Gariby, who will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
RC’s family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 am, Wednesday, November 24th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home, led by Rev. Ray Meador. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
