Rose Marie (Martinez) Carmona, 72, passed away suddenly from Ovarian Cancer on March 27, 2012 in Fairfield, California. She was born October 20, 1939 in Galveston, TX and graduated from Ball High School in 1958, where she was a member of the Tornette Drum & Bugle Corp. She then attended Durham Business College. She married Alfonso “Trini” Carmona, becoming a military wife & accompanying him to Louisiana, Alaska, Spain, and San Antonio, TX, where she retired from Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by parents, Reynaldo & Epigmenia Martinez, and brother, Reynaldo Martinez, Jr. She will be greatly missed by daughters, Sylvia Carmona of San Antonio, TX; Catherine Reed and husband Diego of Vacaville, CA; Stephanie Carmona of Galveston, TX; and grandchildren, Jacqueline, Steven, and Elena. Survivors also include: brother, Domingo Martinez of Texarkana, sister, Margaret Martinez of Texas City and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Galveston, TX on Saturday, April 28, 2012. A rosary will begin at 9:00am; mass at 10:00am, with internment immediately following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either Sunshine Center or Ronald McDonald House in Galveston.
